GASTON COUNTY, NC : Two tractor-trailers collided in Gaston County on April, Wednesday 19th 2017

No one was injured when two tractor-trailers collided in Gaston County early Wednesday morning.

Police say they were called to the crash around 2:30 a.m. on I-85 northbound near Exit 14-17.

The drivers of the tractors told police a car was driving on the shoulder with its hazard lights on when the car suddenly drove into the far right lane, in the path of the tractor-trailer. To avoid hitting the car, the tractor-trailer slammed on brakes and a semi behind him slammed into the tractor-trailer.

The driver of the car reportedly drove off.

Two lanes were closed but reopened around 5 a.m.
