NEW HAVEN, CT : 1 dead in wrong-way crash on 95 South in New Haven on Wednesday, 28th June 2023

One person died in a wrong-way car crash on Interstate 95 South Wednesday morning in New Haven.

State police said Jimmie Lee Wilson, 41, of West Haven, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes around 2:15 a.m. when he crashed head-on into a truck, causing the truck to catch fire.

Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene. Three people in the truck were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, state police said.
