Louisville, KY : 26-year-old Shelley Ann dead after car accident on the Dixie Highway in Louisville on Sunday morning, January 18, 2015

One woman was killed in a car crash that happened early Sunday morning, according to LMPD Public Information Officer Carey Klain.

Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Eddie Robinson has identified the victim as 26-year-old Shelley Ann Hurt. Robinson said she died from blunt force impact injuries resulting from the crash. Robinson also said Hurt was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Hurt was riding in the front seat passenger side of a silver Crown Victoria, which was one of the two vehicles involved in the crash.

Authorities say the Crown Victoria was making a turn into a business when it cut off another vehicle.

The crash happened in the area of Dixie Highway and Greenwood Road at around 4 a.m. The driver of the Crown Victoria was transported to University Hospital.

Two men and one woman were in the other car involved in the accident. They were also taken to the hospital and officials say they are expected to fully recover.

Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
