Soldotna, AK: Two dead, two injured in two-vehicle crash in Kenai Spur Highway on Wednesday, August 5th 2015

Two people have died in a two-vehicle crash on the Kenai Spur Highway, according to a Central Emergency Services official.CES captain paramedic Lesley Quelland said the head-on collision involved a pickup truck and a motor home hauling a vehicle.Two people riding in the truck were killed, Quelland said. Two others in the motor home received non-life-threatening injuries. They were treated at the scene then taken to Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna.The highway is currently closed
while Alaska State Troopers investigate the cause of the collision, she said.The collision happened at the intersection of Lancashire Drive and the highway, Quelland said. The highway is one of two major roads connecting the Kenai Peninsula towns of Kenai and Soldotna.CES responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash at 2:01 p.m. Troopers and Kenai and Soldotna police also responded, she said.A troopers spokesperson did not immediately return a request for more information.
