Two people were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after a four-door Chrysler sedan collided with a four-door Toyota sedan at West Pershing Road and North MacArthur Road.

The crash took place shortly before 4 p.m., said Lt. Shannon Seal of the Decatur Police Department. She said the driver of the Chrysler was traveling westbound on Pershing, turned left onto North Monroe Street without yielding and collided with the Toyota as it traveled east on Pershing.

Police, fire and ambulance services responded to the crash. Seal said the driver of the Toyota and her 14-year-old passenger were transported to a local hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

The driver of the Chrysler was cited for failing to yield when turning left and for driving on a suspended license, she said.
