Pontiac, MI : 37-year-old Garden City man died after a motorcycle crash in Bloomfield Township on Monday afternoon, August 8, 2016

A 37-year-old Garden City man died after a Monday afternoon motorcycle crash at Hickory Grove and Chickering Lane in Bloomfield Township.

Police were called at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, to the two-vehicle crash, which involved a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2013 Ford Fiesta, police said in a release.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The motorcycle was westbound on Hickory Grove and struck the Ford, which was crossing Hickory Grove from Chickering Lane.

The driver of the Ford, a 25-year-old Waterford man, was treated for non-life threatening injuries at an area hospital.

Alcohol was not involved, Bloomfield Township police said, and the motorcyclist, who was not immediately identified, was wearing a helmet.
