ROCKFORD, IL : Coroner IDs man killed in Spring Creek Road crash in Rockford on Thursday, 6th September 2018

James Finley is the driver who was killed Wednesday in a three-vehicle crash on Spring Creek Road near Eisenhower Middle School, the Winnebago County coroner said Thursday.

Finley, 36, was driving a red Mitsubishi 3000 GT east on Spring Creek when he drifted across the centerline and collided with a westbound maroon car, according to police. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

The maroon car veered into the right lane and struck a westbound van. The woman driving the maroon car was taken to the hospital but her injuries were not life threatening. Neither the driver nor passenger in the van were hurt.
