Kankakee, IL : Kameron Allison Herscher High School student was killed in a two-car accident at Illinois Route 17 On Sunday, May 15th, 2016

Police said alcohol was a factor in a two-car accident that claimed the life of a Herscher High School student on Sunday night.

Dead is 15-year-old Kameron Allison, who was a passenger in a car driven by his 16-year-old brother.
Kameron Allison was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:14 p.m., Kankakee County Corner Bob Gessner said. An autopsy was performed today.

Allison's brother, who's name has not been released, was airlifted to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.

Gessner said both brothers were wearing seat belts.

Both are students at Herscher High School. Superintendent Richard Decman said grief counselors were available at the school today.

According to Illinois State Police, the brothers were westbound on Illinois Route 17 on their way home to the Reddick area when a car driven by a 33-year-old St. Anne woman traveling southbound on 19000W Road ran the stop sign, striking the

other vehicle on the passenger side.

She has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. More charges are pending, according to ISP.

She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Her name has not yet been released by police.
