PITTSBURG, PA : Head-on crash sends two to hospital on Monday, June 5, 2017
Sunday night, Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a head-on collision near the intersection of Centennial Avenue and US Highway 69.
Jose Rueda, 35, of Pittsburg was travelling northbound on Hwy 69 driving at 2013 Dodge Challenger, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. Rueda crossed the centerline and hit a 2013 Chrysler 300, driven by Gary Crissman, Sr., 54, of Pittsburg, head on. CRSO responded at approximately 10:22 p.m.
According to CRSO, Rueda was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported to Via Christi Hospital by Crawford County EMS and later flown to Freeman Hospital in Joplin with possible fractures and internal injuries.
Crissman was restrained in his vehicle and was transported to Via Christi by EMS for possible fractures.
The Pittsburg Police Department, Pittsburg Fire Department and Crawford County Fire District No. 1 assisted at the scene.
The wreck is still under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
