Warren, MI : 58-year-old woman killed after being hit by a pickup truck on Lorraine and Campbell avenues on Thursday night, Nov 12, 2015

A 58-year-old woman was killed Thursday night after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing 9 Mile Road in Warren.

The accident happened between Lorraine and Campbell avenues.

Witnesses told police that the woman’s hat blew off as she was crossing, and she turned around to retrieve it when she was struck by a white Ford pickup truck heading westbound.

She was not crossing at a crosswalk.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 56-year-old driver was not under the influence.
