Columbus, OH : Passenger ejected in crash, I-75 south closed on Saturday, 24th September 2016
A crash on southbound Interstate 75 closed the highway at Paddock Road Saturday just before 6:30 p.m.
Emergency crews responded to the accident north of the Norwood Lateral just after 6 p.m., according to police communications.
Lt. Steve Saunders said pickup truck towing a trailer struck a guardrail. The driver was uninjured, but the passenger was ejected. The male passenger is in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Saunders said his injuries are life-threatening.
The highway reopened just before 11 p.m.
An early report from police incorrectly stated a semi-tractor trailer collided with a car.
A motorcyclist was killed in an unrelated crash near the corner of Kenton and E. McMillan streets. The single-vehicle accident closed two blocks of E. McMillan Street.
