Nashville, TN : Child struck, killed by vehicle at south Nashville apartments Monday evening, August 15, 2016

A toddler was struck and killed by a vehicle at a south Nashville apartment complex Monday evening.

Police said it happened around 5:30 p.m. at the Stonebrook Apartments on Hickory Trace Drive.

Investigators said after the 21-month-old child was hit, they were taken to TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, where the toddler was pronounced dead.

The child’s name has not been released.

When Channel 4 arrived on the scene, there was yellow tape and an accident reconstruction team. A property manager asked our crew to leave the premises.

It's not clear if police are considering this to be an accident or if they are planning to pursue criminal charges.
