SPARTANBURG, SC : Spartanburg crash claims life of Cross Hill woman on Saturday, 1st October 2016

Officials said a Saturday crash claimed the life of an Upstate woman.
Around 3:45 p.m. is when troopers say the crash occurred on Drayton Road, less than half a mile west of Spartanburg.
Reports say that a 16-year-old Spartanburg driver was traveling east on Drayton Road in a Ford pickup truck as a 75-year-old driver from Cross Hill was facing east in the median in a Kia. When the Kia made a right turn from the median, it was struck by the pickup truck.
The drivers of the pickup truck and Kia were both seatbelted during the crash and neither were injured, however, the passenger in the Kia was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash on Sunday.
The victim was identified by the coroner as 74-year-old Marlene Morrison Rushton of Tomachichi Road in Cross Hill.
The 75-year-old driver was charged for making an improper turn.
