Stillwater, OK : Cyclist injured after truck hits him in weekend collision west of Stillwater on Saturday afternoon, March 25, 2017

A Stillwater man was admitted in stable condition at Stillwater Medical Center after he was hit by a Dodge pickup truck on Saturday afternoon west of Stillwater.

According to a report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 55-year-old Jeffery Scott Joiner was riding his bicycle eastbound on the westbound shoulder of State Highway 51 near Redlands Road when a pickup struck him. The driver, 24-year-old Alex Palmer of Mineola, Texas, was facing southbound at a stop sign and failed to see the bicycle before hitting Joiner, the report reads.

Joiner was taken to SMC by a LifeNet ambulance with injuries to his head and legs.
