Pageland, S.C : Driver killed when their car went off the road, overturned and hit a tree on South Arant Street on Saturday morning, January 23, 2016

A driver was killed Saturday morning when their car went off the road, overturned and hit a tree, South Carolina Highway Patrol officials said.

Adrian Blakeney, 40, was traveling south at about 4 a.m. on South Arant Street in Pageland when Blakeney's 2004 Taurus went off the left side of the road, the Chesterfield County coroner said.

Blakeney was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was wearing a seat belt, officials said.
