Merrimack, NH : Police: Driver arrested on DWI charge after crashing into home on May 21st 2014

Merrimack police said a man was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge after his car went off the road and into a home early Wednesday morning.

Officers said Brian Macrabie, 34, of Manchester, was driving on the Daniel Webster Highway near Railroad Avenue around 3 a.m. when he crossed over a traffic island, struck the front stairs of one home, weaved back across the road and crashed into the front steps and porch of a second home.

The vehicle caught fire, but crews were able to extinguish the flames and no one was hurt.

Officers observed signs of impairment and arrested Macrabie on a DWI charge.
