COLUMBIA, SC : Crash on I-26 East causes lane closure, traffic buildup on Wednesday, 24th April 2024

A crash on Interstate-26 East near Chapin caused traffic buildup late Wednesday morning due to a lane closure, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT).

SCDOT cameras showed a crash occurred at Exit 97-US 176, causing the left lane on the interstate to close until the scene was cleared. Footage from SCDOT also showed construction occurring in that area.

The scene has been cleared.
