Jacksonville, FL : Bradford teen critically injured in ATV crash on April, Saturday 1st 2017

A 14-year-old Bradford County boy was critically injured Saturday afternoon when his all-terrain vehicle crashed into a utility pole, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Jody M. Griffis of Starke was unresponsive at the scene of the crash about 1:30 p.m. at Northeast 17th Avenue and Northeast 154th Trail, the Highway Patrol said.

Griffis had been driving the four-wheeler northbound on the paved sidewalk on the northbound side of Northeast 17th Avenue “in an erractic and careless manner” when he lost control and hit the utility pole. He was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, the Highway Patrol said.
