SPENCER, IA : 19-year-old motorcyclist from Auburn was injured in a collision on Route 9 in Spencer crash on Monday, 23rd July 2018

A 19-year-old motorcyclist from Auburn was injured in a collision with a pickup truck Monday, police said.

The crash happened about noon on Route 9.

Police said their initial investigation indicated that the driver of the truck, a 48-year-old man from East Brookfield, was pulling out of the McDonald’s parking lot making a left turn on to Route 9. His truck collided with the motorcycle, which was headed east.

The driver of the motorcycle was on the ground and being tended to by Paxton firefighters and a crew from an Access Ambulance that appeared to have been traveling behind the bike. The motorcyclist was taken away by Spencer Rescue Squad.

Police said accident reconstruction specialists were working to determine the exact cause of the crash.
