A Yale man was involved in a single-vehicle wreck early Saturday morning. According to Matthew Baird, 20, was driving a 1997 Chevy pickup southbound on Lawson Road. For an unknown reason, the vehicle drifted to the right side of the road, impacting a guard rail.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the vehicle rolled two-and-a-half times before coming to rest on the driver’s side in a creek bed. Baird was pinned for and hour and a half, and was pulled from the vehicle by Cushing fire responders.
According to the report, the seatbelt was not in use, Baird was ejected during rollover, and the cause of the collision is under investigation.
