Marion County, SC :Deadly crash reported on U.S. 501 in Marion County on Monday, July 13th 2015

One person has been killed in a three car wreck on U.S. 501 South in Marion County, according to Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson.The crash took place at around 3:10 p.m. on Highway 501 south of Marion, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.Troopers say a car was traveling north on Highway 501 when the driver of a Ford lost control, crossed the median, and hit a Kia that was heading south. Another car then hit the Kia.Troopers say the passenger in the Ford was killed. The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.The drivers of the other two cars and four passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Highway Patrol.Richardson says he'll release the victim's name when he notifies the next of kin.
