Troutdale woman killed in overnight motorcycle crash
A 19-year-old woman was killed and a 19-year-old man was critically injured when their motorcycle crashed into an embankment in Troutdale late Wednesday.
The crash happened shortly before 11:20 p.m., near the intersection of Southeast Stark Street and Southeast Kerslake Road, when Tatiana Ofa and Kaleb Jarvis lost control of a 2007 Kawasaki 650 Ninja on a curve along the Sandy River. The two were thrown from the bike after slamming into a rocky embankment on the the south shoulder of the road.
Ofa, of Troutdale, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Lt. Steve Alexander, a Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson. Jarvis, also from Troutdale, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Multnomah County Vehicular Crimes Team is investigating the crash. It was not immediately clear whether drugs, alcohol or speed were contributing factors.
