Phoenix authorities say a motorcyclist was killed and a boy who was a passenger was injured after a collision with a truck.
Firefighters say the incident happened Saturday morning near 42nd Place and Baseline Road.
Phoenix fire spokeswoman Reda Bigler says the male motorcyclist was hit by a dump truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
But a 4-year-old boy also riding on the motorcycle was taken to the hospital as a precaution. He did not appear to have any serious injuries.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Bigler says the man was not wearing a helmet but the child was.
Police are investigating the accident and have not confirmed how the two are related.
