Man acquitted of murder charge dies in motorcycle crash in Bakersfield California

A 24-year-old Delano man was found guilty Friday of three counts of DUI manslaughter stemming from a Jan. 1, 2010 crash.But it could have been worse for Erculano Sanchez Hernandez. He was acquitted of three counts of second-degree murder.Hernandez now faces a maximum sentence of eight years, four months in prison, prosecutor Robert Murray said. If he'd been convicted of second-degree murder, he would have faced 15 years to life.While disappointed in the verdict, Murray said he appreciates the jury's service and the hard work they put in.Michael Webb, the attorney representing Hernandez, said the verdict was just what he thought it should be.
