Authorities say a Hernando County deputy was injured when a drunken driver crashed into his patrol car.
The sheriff's office reports in a news release that 43-year-old Jeannine Bruno crossed a grassy median on a Spring Hill street Tuesday afternoon and hit the unmarked patrol vehicle's side. The deputy called for help and was transported to a local hospital.
A witness told responding deputies that Bruno's car had been going over 100 mph shortly before the crash.
Deputies say Bruno failed a field sobriety test, and breath tests later recorded her blood alcohol level at 0.112 and 0.121 percent. Florida law considers a driver impaired at 0.08.
Bruno was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI with property damage and driving with a suspended license. She was later released on $10,000 bail. Jail records didn't list an attorney.
