A squad car was damaged in a crash on I-43 in Milwaukee.

The crash happened on Tuesday evening in the southbound lanes near North Avenue.

Police said the detectives’ vehicle was hit from behind by a distracted driver. The driver remained on the scene.

The detectives suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated and released.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is handling the case.
