Reno,NV : Warnings posted on Reno roads after 4 horses struck, killed on October, Tuesday 17th 2017
Four horses have been struck and killed by vehicles in Reno since the beginning of October.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that city officials on Tuesday said they’ve posted signs warning drivers to slow down and keep an eye out for horses.
Since mid-August, the Reno Police Department has received 13 calls related to horse and vehicle disturbances.
The road that all four horses were hit on has a speed limit of 45 mph (72.42 kph), but officials are advising drivers to slow down to 35 mph.
Councilwoman Naomi Duerr said officials plan to keep the warnings in place for about 30 days while the staff determines what to do about the crashes moving forward.
