Dothan, AL : One dead in local traffic accident in Dale County on Saturday morning, June 25, 2016

Authorities are investigating a traffic fatality resulting from what appears to be a one-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday morning in the 5800 block of JB Chapman Road in Dale County.

Dale County Coroner Woody Hilboldt identified the victim as Lucille Burnum, 66, of Midland City.

According to a release from the Dothan Police Department, a Chevy Astro van was traveling west on JB Chapman Road and left the roadway and traveled into the tree line where it struck a tree. There were no other passengers.

Police and rescue personnel responded to the call at 8:37 a.m. According to the call from dispatch, flames were visible to the person reporting the accident.
