Lorain, OH : Vermilion man dies in motorcycle crash in Huron County on Sunday, 11th September 2016
A fatal motorcycle crash Sept. 11 in Ridgefield Township in Huron County is under investigation by the Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, according to a media release.
Keith F. Pavlich II, 41, of Vermilion, was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision with a car occurred around 12:45 p.m. on state Route 113 at the intersection of Section Line 117 and Ransom Road.
The release said Pavlich was headed east on Route 113 on his 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he was struck by a 2010 Chevrolet HHR headed south on Ransom Road. The driver of the HHR was Marcelle L. Shaw, 49, of Sandusky.
Shaw, according to the release, failed to yield to the stop sign at Route 113. Both vehicles traveled off the southeast corner of Route 113 and Section Line 117.
Pavlich was not wearing a helmet, the release said. Shaw and her 9-year-old male passenger were both wearing their seat belts and were taken to Norwalk Fisher-Titus Hospital with minor injuries.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors. The crash remains under investigation.
