Longview, TX : 1 person dead in morning 4-vehicle morning wreck near Birdsong Street in Longview on Tuesday, 22nd January 2019

Police are investigating a pair of wrecks early Tuesday that killed one person and shut down part of Loop 281 near Birdsong Street in Longview for several hours.

Longview police Lt. Shane McCarter said the initial crash happened at about 5:38 a.m. A second happened a short time later involving a pedestrian who might have been trying to help direct traffic around the initial crash.
