Cass County, IA : Two people injured after a crash on Highway 6 and Lewis Road on Monday morning, Oct 5, 2015

Two people were flown to regional medical centers following a crash Monday morning in Cass County.
Rescue and law enforcement responded to a crash about 10:44 a.m. north of Lewis at Highway 6 and Lewis Road, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Joseph Allen Williams, 28, of Lake Oswego, Oregon, was traveling north on Lewis Road in a 2007 Audi. According to witnesses, Williams allegedly ran a stop sign and struck the side of the 2009 Volkswagen driven by Debroah Jane Weaver, 65, of Griswold, who was traveling west on Highway 6.
Both vehicles ended up in a ditch north of the highway. Williams and Weaver were transported by Griswold Rescue to Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic. Later, Williams was flown to UnityPoint Health Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, while Weaver was flown to the Nebraska Medicine Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Weaver was wearing a seat belt, but Williams was not wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol.
Assisting at the scene were Lewis and Griswold volunteer fire departments and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
