Topeka,KS : Man suffers serious injuries after motorcycle, car crash head-on in south Topeka on may, Tuesday 30th 2017

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Tuesday evening when the sport cycle he was riding and a compact car collided in the 200 block of S.E. 29th Street, Topeka police said.

The wreck was reported to police at 7:57 p.m. Tuesday and occurred just west of the north-south Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway overpass.

“He was conscious and talking to us,” Topeka police Cpl. Mike Burns said of the motorcyclist, who was taken to a hospital in an ambulance that had its lights and siren activated.

Watch commander Lt. Aaron Jones issued a statement saying the motorcyclist was being treated for extensive, serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Names of the motorcyclist and the car’s driver hadn’t been released as of 10 p.m. Tuesday.
