Las Vegas, NV : Two people killed, 6 injured in rollover crash near Searchlight on Friday morning, June 17, 2016

Two people were killed and six injured this morning when a blown tire apparently caused an SUV to overturn near Searchlight, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

A Ford Excursion was on State Route 164 about 9 a.m. when it crashed into the desert, Trooper Jason Buratczuk said.

Two passengers, a man and a woman, were pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

The driver and another passenger were flown to University Medical Center, Buratczuk said. Four other occupants under the age of 18 suffered nonlife-threatening injuries, he said.

Investigators suspect tire failure caused the crash, Buratczuk said.
