Mount Vernon, KY : Pedestrian from Louisville area killed after being hit by car on Thursday, 13th February, 2020

A Kentucky man was hit by a car and died Thursday, according to Kentucky State Police.

Police responded to a crash involving a car and pedestrian in Mount Vernon, which is in Rockcastle County, around 5 a.m.

According to a news release, Joshua Spillman, 33, of Clarksville, Indiana, was hit by Anthony Housewright's car.

Spillman was declared dead on scene.

Police are investigating the crash, but said they do not think drugs or alcohol were factors.

Mount Vernon is about 128 miles southeast of Louisville. Clarksville, Indiana, is 10 minutes across the river.
