Waterbury, CT : 71-year-old woman fatally struck and killed by a vehicle on Friday night, December 16, 2016

Police are investigating after a 71-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle that fled the scene in Waterbury.

Nancy Martin, of Waterbury, was crossing the street Friday night when police say she was hit by the vehicle. She died at the hospital.

Police say the only witness at the scene told them the male suspect was driving a small dark blue or black car.

The investigating is ongoing.
