Chandler, AZ : Motorcyclists severely injured in crash near North Saba Street and East Warner Road on Saturday, 14th March, 2020

Two motorcyclists were severely injured in a crash on Saturday in Chandler, and police believe impairment was a factor, officials said.

The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. near North Saba Street and East Warner Road, Chandler police said in an email.

A man and a woman on a motorcycle were heading east on Warner Road. A car turned left from Saba Street to go west on Warner Road, and the motorcycle and car collided, the police email said.

Neither motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, and both were taken to a hospital. The woman suffered life-threatening injuries while the man had severe injuries, Chandler police said.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

Police began a criminal investigation into the crash.
