Queens, NY : Woman killed, 9-year-old injured after cars collide in New York on Sunday, July 17, 2016

A woman was killed and a 9-year-old girl critically injured after a car collision hurtled them out of the vehicle they were riding in.

Police say the two were in the back seat of a car that was hit by another car going through a Queens intersection at high speed.

The second car hit three parked cars before stopping, and police say the driver fled.

The woman and the child were unconscious when emergency responders got to them. The 41-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The girl was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Another 71-year-old passenger and the 47-year-old driver of the first car were also taken to the hospital, as was a 46-year-old passenger from the second car.
