Johnstown, NY : Upstate New York woman was impaired by drugs when caused 2-vehicle crash on Route 29 in the town of Johnstown on Monday, April 6, 2015

Authorities say a 24-year-old upstate New York woman was impaired by drugs when she caused a two-vehicle crash that injured eight people.

The Fulton County Sheriff's Office says Joelle Keir of Gloversville was driving a minivan on Route 29 around 1:15 p.m. Monday when she crossed the center line and struck a car head-on in the town of Johnstown, 40 miles northwest of Albany.

Deputies say Keir and four people riding in her van were injured, along with three adults traveling in the car. Information on the extent of the injuries hasn't been released.

The charges filed against Keir include aggravated driving while ability impaired with a child passenger, unlicensed operation with a suspended license and endangering the welfare of a child.

It couldn't be determined if she has a lawyer.
