A 77-year-old man is dead after being caught up in a two-vehicle crash while on his bicycle, the Florida Highway Patrol said Monday.
According to FHP, a pickup truck was traveling north on State Road A1A in the left turn lane at Mickler Road. At about 1:30 p.m., the truck turned left onto Mickler and collided with the left side of a southbound sedan. As a result of the crash, the sedan lost control and hit the bicyclist, who was on the southbound sidewalk of SR A1A.
The bicyclist was killed in the crash. Both the driver of the pickup, a 29-year-old woman, and the driver of the sedan, an 84-year-old man, received minor injuries.
