South Thomaston,ME : Motorcyclist injured in South Thomaston crash on August, Thursday 31th 2017
A Spruce Head man was flown to a Portland hospital following a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon, Aug. 31, in South Thomaston.
Wayne Fowles, 59, was traveling south on Route 73 when he went off the side of the road and lost control in the gravel portion along the ditch. Fowles’ 1997 Harley Davidson hit a culvert and he was thrown off the bike across a driveway.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash, near Alsak Farm Road, at about 2:10 p.m.
Fowles was flown by a LifeFlight of Maine helicopter to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.
Deputy Arthur Smith is investigating to determine a cause.
South Thomaston Fire and Ambulance was assisted by Rockland Fire and EMS at the scene.
