GREENE COUNTY, OH : Two dead in Greene County car crash on Saturday, December, 9th 2017
A man and a woman are dead and a child is in hospital, after a car crash on State Route 380 in Spring Valley.
State Highway Patrol has identified the victims as 49-year-old Carl A. Perry Jr. and 73-year-old Linda J. Davis – both of Xenia, Ohio.
Authorities say Perry was travelling northbound in a 2004 Ford pickup truck when he traveled off the west side of the roadway.
Police say the truck hit a traffic sign, overturned, and hit a fence and a tree.
Perry was pronounced dead at the scene.
Davis, who was a passenger in the truck, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where she died.
Police say Perry and Davis were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
A child was in the car, restrained in a car seat. The child was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Authorities confirmed Sunday, the child has been released to family.
It happened just after 5pm Saturday.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Police do not believe alcohol is a factor.
