Alexandria, LA : 16-year-old Ball girl died in crash on La. Highway 3225 on Tuesday night, May 17, 2016

A 16-year-old Ball girl died late Tuesday night after the driver of the truck she was riding in lost control and hit a vehicle in somebody's driveway, according to Louisiana State Police.

Chloe R. James died at the scene of the wreck around 11:30 p.m. on La. Highway 3225, north of U.S. Highway 71. Neither she nor the driver of the 2007 Ford pickup, 24-year-old Micah D. Baden, were wearing seat belts, according to the release.

Baden was driving north on La. 3225 when he lost control and ran off the road. The truck went into a private driveway and hit a parked semi-trailer, reads the release.

Baden sustained moderate injuries. He was taken to Rapides Regional Trauma Center. Charges are pending against Baden, according to the release, as are the results from routine toxicology tests.
