Lehi , UT : 41 - Years old man was Killed after he was struck by Vehicle on Thursday night , February 5th 2015

Police say they're unsure why a Layton man was sitting on a Lehi street with his back to traffic when he was struck and killed by a vehicle.

Police Sgt. Jeff Swenson says investigators are trying to determine why 41-year-old Miguel Herrera was sitting in the middle of a road in a poorly lit area when he was hit Thursday night.

Investigators found no immediate evidence that he was suicidal, intoxicated or had a medical issue.

Herrera was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly before the accident, the Utah Highway Patrol received a call that a man was walking along I-15 in Lehi and had almost been hit several times.

Investigators later found Herrera's vehicle parked along the interstate and believe he walked a short distance to the area where he was struck.
