Jackson, MS : One dead, one injured in car crash on Wooddell Drive on Sunday, July 31, 2016

One person is dead, another injured after the car they were traveling in left the road, hit a tree and caught fire.

The crash happened at 3:21 am Sunday on Wooddell Drive. A man inside the silver Honda Accord was pulled from the wreckage and taken to a hospital. He is listed in serious condition. A second person in the vehicle died at the scene. Police have not identified either person.

The Jackson Police Accident Investigation Division is working the case. Police will release more information, including names of the victims when next of kin is notified.
