State police say one person has died after a car slammed into a garbage truck on a rural upstate New York road. Troopers say a truck owned by D.L. Parkison Enterprises in Newark in Wayne County was slowing down to pick up a garbage can around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the town of Arcadia, 20 miles east of Rochester. A 1978 two-door Chevrolet sedan traveling in the opposite direction then slammed into the truck. Troopers say the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver and a passenger weren't injured. The body was taken to the medical examiner's office in Rochester for identification. The person's name hasn't been released.
