Brockton, MA : Motorcyclist seriously injured in Middleboro crash on Friday September 2 2016

An unidentified motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries when he collided with a car Friday evening.

Middleboro police and firefighters responded to Route 44, east of the Middleboro Rotary, about 7:21 p.m., for the two-vehicle crash.

Police arrived first on scene and reported good Samaritans were tending to the injured motorcyclist.

Firefighters reported a man, believed to be between 22 and 26 years old, suffered serious, but likely non-life-threatening, lower back and upper body injuries from a high-speed crash.

The motorcyclist was taken by a Middleboro ambulance to Middleboro High School, where he was flown by medical helicopter to Morton Hospital in Taunton.

It was unclear if the driver of the car was injured or taken to a hospital.

The crash is being investigated by Middleboro police.
