Huntsville Police: Driver in wreck taken to hospital as deceased but now revived, in critical condition

The Huntsville Police Department says a "medical issue" is the likely cause of a four-vehicle crash early Monday where the driver was taken to a hospital listed as Priority 0, which means deceased, but is now in critical condition.

The male driver of a 2019 white Nissan Frontier was driving east on Airport Road and crossed the center line and hit three other vehicles, according to Capt. Michael Johnson, police spokesman.

"(The driver of the Nissan Frontier) was transported to Crestwood Hospital priority 0 (deseased). He was then transferred to Huntsville Hospital, where he was revived and is currently in critical condition," Johnson said.

Johnson said the male driver's injuries "are not as a result of the crash, but a prior medical problem."

The other three drivers were not injured.
