Slaton, TX : 1 dead, 1 injured in early morning crash near Slaton on U.S. Highway 84 on Thursday, 6th June 2019

One woman is dead, and a man injured, after a crash west of Slaton on U.S. Highway 84 Thursday morning.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s initial investigation, an SUV was traveling east on the wrong side of the highway and collided head-on with a pickup truck heading west. The crash happened at about 12:20 a.m.

The driver of the SUV, 42-year-old Maria Jasper of Snyder, died at the scene. Hayden Powers, 20, of Lubbock was transported to University Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.

Texas Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating this crash.
