Leitchfield, KY : Two people injured in a car crash on Beaver Dam Road on Tuesday afternoon, June 21, 2016
Two people were transported to the hospital following a car crash on Beaver Dam Road on Tuesday afternoon, June 21.
At around 3:03 p.m. on Tuesday, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Leitchfield Fire Department, and Grayson County Emergency Medical Services (GCEMS) responded to the scene of the crash at 5620 Beaver Dam Rd.
Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins said on the scene that, prior to the accident, a 2005 Chrysler Sebring Touring, driven by James Miller, 67, of Caneyville, had been travelling eastbound on U.S. Highway 62.
The Chrysler then passed another vehicle on a bridge following a heavy rain, lost control, and likely hydroplaned before striking a ditch and concrete culvert and coming to a rest in a yard, facing east, Chaffins said.
Miller complained of a back injury, and his passenger, Goldie M. Jones, 64, of Leitchfield, complained of a neck injury as a result of the crash.
Both Miller and Jones were transported from the scene by GCEMS to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center to receive treatment for their non-life-threatening injuries.
The Chrysler was disabled as a result of the crash and removed from the scene by Terry’s Towing.
