Tallahassee, FL : 7-year-old among 2 dead after Allentown car crash on Tuesday, January 3rd 2017
A 47-year-old woman and a 7-year-old child died after a crash Tuesday night in Allentown, Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said.
The crash happened about 10:37 p.m. at South Fourth and West Susquehanna streets, Grim said. A Ford sedan and an Infiniti were involved.The child, Yaretzi Ramos, of Kissimmee, Florida, was pronounced dead at 11:32 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township, Grim said. An autopsy will be performed Wednesday morning to determine the cause of her death, Grim said.
Christine Rivera, of the 1000 block of Hamilton Street in Allentown, was pronounced dead at 1:29 a.m. at St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill, Grim said. She was the driver of one of the cars, Grim said. Her autopsy is also planned for Wednesday morning, Grim said.
The Allentown Police Department and the coroner's office are heading the investigation.
The intersection has since reopened, police said. Details of the crash are expected to be released later Wednesday morning, Capt. Bill Lake said.
